Lady Marmalade video... Moulin Rouge Second Life

Interesting enough... I was looking for something on You Tube and ran into this Lady Marmalade video.  They shot it in our Moulin Rouge and they mention in the ending credits that they got permission from Vanderghast Kavka... of course I bought him out long before this was shot.  Really the Host picture in the opening screen is something I added after the change.  I suppose that makes it sort of a violation of somesort, however it is a lovely video and they did a great job - just wish they had gotten permission to shoot it and given credit to Don Duke the designer of the Rouge and myself as the owner and operator.

I might ad we did Lady Marmalade as a full stage production with literally months of production work on sets, scripts and tools not to mention costumes and practice.  This was a couple of years back and the productions have become easier so we could produce it now with maybe a month of work and practice.  Perhaps we will give it another go...

Where is Strokerz and other notable adult regions/shops

So, I tried to go to Strokerz headquarters tonight and I get a region not found message.  Amsterdam, which bills itself as a place for escorts etc... has itself listed as Mature.  This is all so confusing.  I went to too of the Imposter Moulin Rouges in SL tonight as well and both have closed up shop, or maybe never opened?

The Kink-o store is still in place, and the Twisted Orchid, it is good to see some places might survive.

This sort of publicity might be what the Lindens are afraid of

I think it actually helps SL and drives in more business.

Di-Mystifying the Adult Region Issues

What are ADULT regions?
This designation also applies to Adult groups, events, and classifieds.

Your region must be designated Adult if:

  • You have representations of intensely violent acts, whether or not photo-realistic (for example, depicting death, torture, dismemberment or other severe bodily harm). This could be publically displayed images for instance, or animations depicting something like rape.
  • You have images that display Photo-realistic nudity; photo-realistic means that an image either is a photograph or cannot be distinguished from a photograph. This is a gray area some images in SL of avatars look pretty realistic.
  • Expressly sexually themed content, spaces or activities (whether or not photo-realistic); The Lindens broadly define what is "sexually themed" to include any sexually oriented activities and conduct.

What do you need to do to view Adult regions?
You have two tasks to accomplish if you want to go to Adult regions and view Adult content:

  • Your account needs to be verified. To do this complete one of the following:
    • Add payment info on file for your account with Linden Lab. You do this from the “My Account” page on the SL Web site.
    • Go through the Age Verification process. This is done by a third party and there is a FAQ to help answer your questions. The tool is found at https://secondlife.com/account/verification.php
    • Put United States dollars(USD) on your XstreetSL (formally known as SLExchange) account from a verified PayPal account.
  • You need to change the setting in the Second Life Preferences window that allows you to view Adult content.

What are MATURE regions?
This designation also applies to Mature groups, events, and classifieds.

This is a catchall for almost everything else that happens in Second Life. Most of the non-adult activities that are common in Second Life. For instance; dance and social clubs and groups, stage and theater performances including Burlesque are considered Mature, so long as they don't promote sexual conduct, such as through pose balls (whether in "backrooms" or more visible spaces). “Sexy” clothing or skins are probably Mature unless due to their tags they are flagged as Adult.
